Thoughts.com: A Dynamic Avenue For Thoughts

November 28, 2009

I have been writing in the Internet since 12 years of age–so that gives me 7 years of writing in the Internet.  I remember starting in Diary Land.  Afterwards, I went to Xanga and then to BlogSpot.  When I finished high school, I then tried Wordpress.  But during those times, Wordpress was very hard for me to use and so I went back to BlogSpot until my personal blogging thing died because I was too busy with college.

Now that I have thought of it again, I think the main reason why I lost my drive for blogging was because my readers back then were mostly personal friends of mine.  My old blog died during the start of my college years and basically, my readers were also starting their own college years too.  So simply put, we were all too busy to still check out each other’s blog sites.  I could have not cared and just continued blogging but then again, I felt that it was already becoming useless and a little bit awkward to continue writing thoughts that nobody paid even just a little attention to.  I am sure a lot of potentially good writers out there are experiencing the same thing right now and I know it sucks big time!  But thankfully, I just know which thing would help them in this sad dilemma.

Thoughts.com is a large and effective avenue for people who have the passion or even just the interest for writing that are not yet capable of setting up their own webpages but are wanting for a dynamic discussion about their points-of-views and common interests.  It has a user-friendly mechanism which only requires you to sign up for an account and manage your own profile with basic data about yourself.  With Thoughts.com, you can share your opinions and even your ramblings through writing a blog post, posting photos, videos and even podcasts.  Gathering essential data for studies and researches is also possible with Thoughts.com through setting up surveys and polls in the website.  If you simply want reading about current events that tackle a wide range of topics, you can also try their news section.

The best thing about Thoughts.com is that it has a large audience for writing since people in their database which are registered members as well do read others’ people’s post too. Thoughts.com also has this safeguard mechanism in the form of reminding members to maintain a positive and friendly atmosphere in posting comments.  It may not be absolute but this way, you can still be assured that useless bashing of blog posts shall be lessened.  Negative comments which usually discourage writers to still go on with writing is significantly lessened in Thoughts.com too.  :)

While topics to be written in Thoughts.com are completely infinite, Thoughts.com is not only an avenue for practiced writers but can also serve as a playground for people who are still getting a grip of writing.  There are a lot of users that can serve as a mere inspiration for writers and people who can give constructive comments when they try to execute things that they have learned through mere reading.

Truly, Thoughts.com’s free blog services fits in all essence of the word THOUGHTS’ very open nature.  :)

God is just beside me

October 7, 2008

In times of trial and defeat, you won’t often have a lot of friends that continue to stick around with you. You are lucky if there is someone among all of them who still stays in approachable company to you. Else, in worst cases, you will be left out from the crowd and may become totally isolated. To who would you turn to now?

Whether you like it or not, you may deny this fact but in reality, you can’t escape it that for a matter of fact; our last stand, our last refuge, our last shelter is the goodness of God. Our father who art in heaven and guides us day in and day out. He is the one who leads us through all odds and endeavors we come along. Sometimes we are up on the top and often, we tend to be dethroned and find ourselves all alone down in the cellar.

In catastrophic cases wherein you play the underdog, and find yourself below the others, we often come to blame a single person, and that is God; for misleading us to a misfortuned path. We come to ask why he did that to us and what could be possible solutions to get out of the deep hole. So am I asking myself, why we often have to undergo such disgraceful moments.

And after a couple of moments of reflecting on this topic, I come to the following realization and point of view which I’d like to share to you. Regardless whether it is your fault that your status in life is not that good, or even if it’s due to the account of someone else. Everything has a rational explanation why things go such way. And that explanation can be found up in the sky, or even beyond it, up to the endless cover of stars.

What I mean, in simple words is, that the reason for all our pain, the decision maker for all these events is God. He sets our path and guides us to fulfill his desired plans for each and everyone of us. Whether he gives us something nice or unpleasant at times, God wants us not to become invincible, but remain as real as possible. Thus making us both feel the beauty and the odds of life.

Don’t loose hope when doors are closing, don’t loose faith when your fate turns upside down. God wants you to be in such emotions, God wants us to be complete and remind us over and over, that we are not perfect and are still very vulnerable. Always remember that…

You did not come to this place by accident, you are exactly where I meant for you to be.

Insight on Love

September 30, 2008

What I feel..

random ramblings

Alone again, naturally.

One of my love told me, ¨Being in love, in a relationship, it..s just a different reality; not necessarily a better reality (compared to being alone), but just a different one.¨ I didn’t agree. I still don’t.

Another one told me, ¨You should only be with someone, if being in love with that person makes you happier than when you are alone.¨ Words I agreed more.

If I followed the words of the former, I would be easily satisfied. Because the expectations from a loving relationship would be not much different from a life alone.

Unfortunately, my vision of love is closer to the latter. Hence, I’m more demanding in love. I didn’t need someone to make me happy, being alone is satisfying enough for me. But falling in love made me happier; something I cannot control; His happiness became more important than mine. As long as we were the reason for each others’ happiness, love continues.

Love, drove me to satisfy the other. Naturally; passionately; unrelenting; without holding back; made his happiness more important than mine. His priorities higher than mine.

But somehow or rather, love eventually fails. Blameless, we move on with our own lives. In this sense, love becomes like just another part of reality that is no different from the reality of being alone.

But I wonder; How could an emotion so powerful, so compelling, be at the same time so fragile?

Promises we make in business, in school, contracts we sign; we are made to uphold them. Even though they are promises with not much emotions attached.

But promises made in love, with such a powerful emotion driving them on, they are often fragile promises; easily forgotten, disappearing as love dies.

As no one is more responsible than the other when love arises, no one is more to be blamed when it dies; it is what it is.

Instead of remaining bitter and assign blame to the other when love dies, it is better to hold on to the good things that happened between each other in the name of love, and continue to let oneself evolve; continue to let good things happen in the name of love.

What’s more, it’s the hurt and disappointments in life that teaches us the most

I’m Sick of it

April 14, 2008

I’m sick of how boys deal with other boys when they are mad, once, something slips out of hand, there’s no turning back to restore the friendly and peaceful bond between them. Why is that so?

Just a couple of minutes ago, I have had to ban one user, who is having a conflict with the former forum administration, Kevin Paquet. I didn’t want to do it, but as said above, there’s most likely no turning back. Of course, Kevin doesn’t wants me to ban anyone at all, but I just did, since it was needed, since Kevin didn’t took any action on that.

and that’s how it was..

April 12, 2008

Kevin`s invitationand that’s how it all began.. hehehe..

well, i must say, i was pretty much a writer-wanna-be then, but ever since i entered the college life, time seemed to be more important to balance than my allowance. :D

and ever since i turned to this mature lady [yeah right] life just went deeper and deeper that made me out of words, in describing feelings, days and even moments and memories. and i thought to myself to never write them in words or like have a memoir of such fantastic/hurtful moments, because i might just thrash the thought. ever since then, i never wrote a single poem, a story and had even stop keeping a diary.

Help Philippines Through Ethnocentrism

April 12, 2008

As we all know, Philippines has a very long way to go. It’s progress is very, very slow. But before we go on and blame the corrupt officials (take note: I’m not defending them), let’s see things in another perspective. And in this perspective, it’s us, the ordinary citizens, that are in it. I am talking about how we should view things around us. I am talking about ethnocentrism.

But before I give out the meaning (if you don’t know it), let me give you it’s counterpart. It’s eurocentrism. Eurocentrism, according to Wikipedia, is the practice of viewing the world from a European perspective, with an implied belief, either consciously or subconsciously, in the preeminence of European (and, more generally, of Western) culture, concerns and values at the expense of non- Europeans. If I were to give my own meaning, it would be, loving anything Western and putting away anything Asian. It’s evident in our country. It’s in the choices that we make and the way we do things.

Let me cite an example which I know most (if not all) Filipinos can relate. We prefer a lighter skin tone over a darker one. The reason is much more deeper than saying lighter skin tone looks more clean than it’s dark counterpart. In case you haven’t noticed, Americans love to get a tan but are having a hard time doing so. Filipinos should start to appreciate their own skin color! But anyway, I believe that it all started when we were being colonized by the Spaniards (take note: Westerner!). Since then, there was a “caste system”, or the division of classes in the society. The elite then, were of course, the Spaniards themselves. And to be like them, one must be like them. One should dress like them, act like them and look like them. Then and there it happened. People wanted to be mestizos. And since then, the mentality of having whiter skin being better than having a dark one has been established.

I’m proud being a Filipino Teen

April 10, 2008

I’m so proud of it, how about you? I’ve known this organization not for so long, but well, it’s quiet impressive how it strives to keep on developing here in Davao City, the headquarter. I’m not promoting the Staff or anything, but I’m trying to express a vital point here. The willingness of the Philippine Youth to hangout with each other, the closeness, the hospitality.

If I would be only granted a single wish (I’d first wish that I could have more wishes LOL, kidding) then it would be unity among the present generation, it’s so good that Pinoy Teens Online is trying it right now, but how about you?

My Blog is Dead

April 5, 2008

I had just to repeat my personal online journal, kevinpaquet.com :( Something went wrong, I don’t know actually what went wrong, but the important part is, something did went wrong. Haaay. There was still one plugin for entrecard users which I tried to attach to my sidebar via a text widget which caused a major error. >.< Anyways, I’m glad now, somehow, that I’ve gotten at least the theme that I’m using back on track with no more errors as it always tends to restore itself to default after some time.

Have you heared about it already? Pinoy Teens will be launching it’s first contest! Yes, it’ll be an easy domain giveaway, but more information about it, tomorrow, right here on Pinoy Teens!
