Maguindanao Massacre
November 26, 2009
What more can I say? What could I do to ease the burden and lighten the agony of the families and friends of the Maguindanao Massacre victims? Nothing, I think. I’m just no one–just someone who wishes to extend his condolences to all the people victimized in this wide-spread issue that is even frowned upon by different parties around the global sector.
I just hope that this won’t happen again. We’ll never know if this unfortunate even already foreshadows a bloody 2010 elections or if this is going to be the last tragedy to happen while under this dysfunctional government we are in. To my dismay, I do not see a potential halt to all of these crimes happening. Aided by the fact that the mechanisms executed by the current Administration are not really commensurate to the gravity of this recent crime.
Don’t forget to place the above pictured ribbon on your blog to show your unity with the people mourning about the Maguindanao Massacre, as suggested by GenSantos.Com
The Palace assures the Filipino populace that the Magunindanao Massacre shall be put under the limelight and will be worked on as hard as possible. But with the way suspects are currently being investigated, I do not think this claim is evident once again.
Izy Mae noted that Vice Mayor Mangudadatu (whose wife is one of the numerous victims of the massacre) was still able to have a final phone call with his wife before she was killed. Despite the latter being a sufficient kind of premise for the assumption that Ampatuan had a hand in the massive killing, Authorities still did not capture suspects for them to be detained and investigated thoroughly. What the Palace has been doing right now is sending representatives to the Ampatuan residence for discussions of matters revolving around the issue. When did discussion about a crime with a suspect become a valid kind of reinforcement for this kind of horrible thing? Outrageous!
What makes everything look sound even more odd is the fact that the Administration and the Ampatuans have been political allies and that the Ampatuans have put in significant contribution to the Administration’s Party in the previous elections.
Let’s give Arroyo the benefit of the doubt and let her follow the rules of due process. But if by any chance some of the keyplayers of the Ampatuans suddenly disappear, then she might be in for trouble and great scrutiny.
I am not saying that the Ampatuans are indeed guilty. I just feel that it is very unjust for the victims and that it leaves people with great skepticism about the credibility and reliability of our government. If they can give special treatments to monsters who took lives of women and journalists without thinking twice, then it is not possible from happening again. Thus, the Filipino people’s society is at high risk.
Let’s all pray for the souls of the victims that they may rest and peace and find the light as they experience the new journey in after life. Let us also hope AND pray that something as tragic as this one won’t be repeated ever again in the history of the Filipino people. For crying out loud, we deserve something way better than this.
Where is Arroyo’s promise to Swift Justice?

I personally dislike to voice out my opinions about issues like the Maguindanao Massacre for many reasons. One of these reasons hindering me to is probably the fear to end up as one of those journalists who were killed in the Massacre which now has the death toll of 57 as of writing.
Not only the media and press community in the Philippines is mourning upon this very unfortunate event–the whole Filipino society is. As a matter of fact, this particular event in that very fateful day in Maguindanao has even caught international attention.
But before we proceed, there are many things that we have to clarify.
There are indeed a lot of people who consider journalism as a life-threatening work–most especially when the subjects to be tackled are in the field of politics and government officials. The harms of the Journalism career become magnified when the need for field exposure in able to get a first-hand grip of the issue comes.
For sure, this massacre of journalists is sad but let me remind all of you that what happened in Maguindanao is not the first massacre that happened in the history of crimes since present administration. Hence, I do believe that this massacre is not an isolated case and there are still many unsolved similar cases at present day. What I am trying to say is, the journalists were not killed because they were journalist. The reason why they were killed was because they were in the same vans boarded by dozen other people who became victims of this horrendous massacre–they were in the same vans where the real target of the massacres are. Yes, we can cry out and need to seek justice for the journalists along with the other people involved, but I don’t think that whoever did this was after the journalists at all–but was after cleaning the place and to leave no witness behind.
Administration and Ampatuan Bond
The Philippine National Police (PNP) went a little inconsiderate and harsh on the case of one of the ABS-CBN reporters who is reported to have been involved in the tragedy because of what happened to said reporter’s wife. Said reporter is being accused of tampering evidences and obstruction of justice for failing in immediately reporting the gunning of his wife.
We also know how harsh and disrespectful the Philippine National Police became when they arrested him right there at the hospital when he was spending the last few moments of his wife with him–just the very time that his wife needs him the most.
A lot of people frowned on the arrest of Ted Failon when his wife committed suicide months ago for reasons that still remain blurry and undefined right now. And this explains my frustration as to why the authorities would arrest other irrelevant people instead of arresting suspects from the Ampatuan party. It is even more frustrating that instead of arresting suspects and putting them on hold in order for them not to escape anymore, the authorities are sending people from the Administration in order to discuss things that God-knows-what.
Buluan town vice mayor Ishmael “Toto” Mangudadatu claimed that he had a conversation with his wife who was one of the victims just minutes prior the massacre took place. Vice Mayor said that his wife noted that the Ampatuan Clan is behind everything. He also noted that his wife revealed to have been slapped by Datu Unsay Mayor Andal Ampatuan Jr.
Aren’t these premises already ample evidence for them to assume that Ampatuan had a hand on this very hideous and unfortunate crime? Or do all these premises won’t have any bearing against the said perpetrators due to the Administration-Ampatuan link at the moment?
I mean, if even Ted Failon has been arrested with little evidence suggesting that he was involved to his wife death, why can’t they do the same to the Ampatuan? How come it was very easy for them to break someone else’s heart by taking him away from his wife presence while she was in her deathbed when he does not even have any idea about his wife’s murder? Is there a special treatment involved in handling this case? Or is there something else going on that we don’t know about?
I don’t know, and I really don’t want to know. For all that I wish to read and hear about is who is responsible for all of this and what the law is going to do with all involved people.
It is really a very inhumane act. No words can surely comfort and appease the families of the victims right now for the loss is merely very hard to take at the moment. Unfortunately, our words of sympathy for the victims’ families cannot reach much of a positive effect. What these families are lusting for is justice and enlightenment about the crime that destroyed not only the lives of the victims but also their own lives as well. And this justice that we all want to see taking place right now is nothing but in the hands of the Administration we have right now. The same Administration who is currently denying the progress of crime investigations for this massacre.
Another essential thing that we must all keep an eye on is Ampatuan’s potential plans of escaping via flying overseas. If ever this gets permitted by the government agencies who have the power to make people fly in and out of the country, then we can surely presume that there is something extremely fishy and dirty going on.
I hope you understand my opinion about this issue. Such uncorresponding actions from the Administration really make me doubt the stand of the Administration with regards to this crime. With such seemingly apathetic mechanisms after the crime, who is that rational person out there who will still believe and stand firm that the Administration is doing something still favorable?
Jumping Into The Bandwagon (A Commentary On The PacMan-Krista Ranillo Alleged Backdoor Affair)
November 23, 2009
I belong to a dysfunctional family–where the dysfunction primarily comes from my Dad’s good times. I have witnessed my parents’ fights about my Dad’s other women lots of times. I lived with my Dad’s other woman for a year when he accommodated her in our home and deceived us that she was just a mere officemate in need of temporary board and lodging. Yes, I lived with that whore, my Dad and my Mom under the same roof. It was such a very painful experience–especially for a child who has lots of love and respect for her Mom to see your Dad (who you equally respect too) see other women who are not in the same caliber as your Mom in the back doors. This, my dear friends is the main reason why I NEVER support the ideas of a man seeing another woman or bedding a woman who is not his significant other. Yes, I didn’t put the word “married” before the “man” in my previous sentence because I believe it’s the same way for both married and unmarried men–as long as they committed themselves to a woman and vowed to love her unconditionally. Of course, more pressure is imposed on married men here. On the PacMan-Krista Ranillo issue, I do not think I should still give a lengthy backgrounder for the issue here. We all know the deets now. Bottom line is, Krista Ranillo is the alleged apple of the eye of The Pound For Pound King right now. Allegations extend to claims like PacMan doled out an estimated amount of 2 Million bucks (I don’t know if it’s in PHP or USD) for Krista Ranillo’s younger sister’s cleft palate operation in the United States. There is also this circulating video around the Internet which shows PacMan leaving the Jimmy Kimmel show while driving his own car–nothing special right? However, the thing in that video IS it showed a young girl in the passenger seat covering her face when she foreshadowed that there were paparazzis taking videos of them leaving. That girl who has the same face contour as Krista Ranillo’s covered her face with her hand and hid from the cameras. Unfortunately (for PacMan fans who want to give their idol the benefit of the doubt) the girl in the video is DEFINITELY not Jinkee Pacquaio (who is PacMan’s wife as we all know). Manny Pacquaio Leaves Jimmy Kimmel Site With an Unknown Woman — this is the video, folks!

Since Ms. Ranillo has not released any concrete statement regarding the issue yet, I do not really know what to say. But I just find it entirely disappointing that this is the 2nd time that Ranillo has been involved with a married man! As the saying puts it, if there’s smoke then there is fire. I do not think that these allegations are purely unfounded. Of course there are reasons why people have come up with such conclusions. There is also a report that PacMan and Ranillo have been seen having a good time alone in Hong Kong sometime this year. Ranillo has been said to be the cause of Miss Gina Alajar and Mike De Mesa’s split years ago. As a matter of fact, Miss Alajar even stated in her Facebook account that “Krista Ranillo is not worth it”–sending a message to Jinkee. I believe that what is more disappointing is that Krista Ranillo is someone who went to the best schools in the country. According to what is written, Krista went to St. Pedro Poveda College (formerly known as Poveda Learning Center) for her primary and secondary education and finished her undergraduate degree at the Ateneo De Manila University. I am acknowledging the possibilities that she may not have instilled the good values that her Alma Mater has taught its students hence her guts to wreck a famous figure’s marriage. However, I do not think that she is THAT uneducated and ill-equipped for a good job for her to be able to earn money for her younger sister’s medical needs. And even if she does not actually go to the usual labor force, I think it’s not an educated person’s resort to cling to a gazillionaire in order to suffice for her family’s monetary needs. Hello, she has the contacts and links that she can use as tools to get her showbiz career skyrocketting and earn big bucks eventually. I do not think she has exhausted her capabilities already in showbiz for her to say that it’s nothing but her last resort (clinging to Pacquaio) because as far as I am concerned, posing in FHM isn’t exhausting her capabilities. Duh, hello!

I feel sorry for Jinkee and her children. Because this act of PacMan (if ever allegations are true) sends the message that contrary to his claims, he obviously does not value his family that much. Please do not give me the reason that he is damn rich hence he has the right to get all the pleasure he wants–even it is from other women. Hell, if not for Jinkee’s utmost love and compassion for the love of her life, PacMan won’t be where he is right now–admit it. Admit that Jinkee served as PacMan’s number one inspiration when he was nothing. After all, Jinkee stood for and loved PacMan from the very time that PacMan was actually nothing in the Boxing scene. So does she deserve this kind of backbiting? In front of the whole world? I beg to differ. Rich or poor, a man does not have the right to cheat on his wife. I know that there are lots of PacMan fans who visit this site. But I do not think I should be reprimanded with all your harsh comments (if ever you plan to give me hehe) for airing out what I think not only as a woman but also as an AVERAGE REASONABLE PERSON. But I believe that as PacMan fans, you should know better for your idol. For me? Night or day, Team Jinkee is the way!
