In our first episode of Study Tips for Students, I decided to ask someone who’s more close with the word “studying” to share some of his ideas… An Ateneo de Davao University College Student named Alex John Abando.
Studying is a vital part of a student’s life. (Common Sense, really.) That’s why we thought it would be helpful to open up a small study tips section on Pinoy Teens where we, along with contributions of our readers and friends will share some tips that you guys can easily apply to your life – may you be in High School or College, or whatever. If you have an own suggestion, please don’t hesitate to contact us right away.
Let’s get it started now, shall we?
The Environment for Studying:
Alex’ most optimal studying environment is as follows: a place far from distractions, well-lit, moderately comfortable (not too comfortable as it might induce sleep), not too warm nor cold but better if it’s leaning towards cold, to avoid sweating.
The length of each Studying Session:
The length of each studying session highly depends on the person, he believes, but it is best if you tackle each subject for at least 30 minutes to get you in the groove of studying. Of course, in College it may seem a bit overkill as you’ve certainly got many, many subjects – specially for freshmen. It is recommended to study for the subjects you have the following day, instead of tackling ALL your subjects at one evening.
Finally, one tip that he wants to share with the readers of Pinoy Teens is pretty simple – but trust me, rather effective:
Study first everything that seems more easier to understand. That way, you get more studying done and have enough time to truly focus on the few difficult lessons ahead.
It’s your time to share:
What can you say about Alex’s way of studying? Do you agree with him? How do you prepare yourself and how do you study? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
