This Press Release was taken from the TV5 Press Conference held last February 26, 2011 at the Marco Polo Hotel, Davao City
There is no stopping TV5 as continues to rise to become a strong and dynamic network that reaches Filipinos everywhere while changing the landscape of Philippine television. Barely a year since the network was launched as the Kapatid network under the management of Manny V. Pangilinan’s MediaQuest, it has shown unparalleled growth in programming content, signal strength and overall popularity among an expanding viewership base all over the country and in other parts of the world.
In line with its regional expansion, TV5 invaded Davao on February 26 with the much-awaited live airing of Willing Willie from the Agro Football Field in Davao City. Led by host Willie Revillame, Willing Willie showcased an array of spectacular production numbers, huge prizes, and a star-studded lineup of guests, including Carla Humphries, Regine Angeles, Arci Munoz, Meg Imperial, Princess Ryan, Aegis and many more. Also called the Happy Network, TV5 continues to get bigger and better as it sets out to gain more viewers and followers in its bid to provide the highest standard entertainment, news, information and public service.
This year, TV5 is coming up with a notable roster of big program offerings, which include Extreme Makeover Home Edition, a local adaption of the huge international hit wherein the lives of 12 Filipino families are bound to change for good. There will also be remakes of the greatest programs and movie hits of the past decades, including “Iskul Bukol”, “Bagets”, “Humanap Ka ng Panget”, “P.S I Love You”, “Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum”, plus the Carlo J. Caparas Komiks novels “Bangis” and “Limang Daliri ng Diyos”.
Further, soon to symbolize Tv5’s remarkable growth is the iconic rise of the Tv5 Studio Complex in Mandaluyong’s booming Central Business District, an elevated location that naturally yields better and clearer broadcast signals. Housing a 9-storey corporate building and two 8-storey buildings for news and production, the TV5 Studio Complex features highly advanced broadcast facilities and systems that will properly the network to the forefront of broadcast technology.

TV 5 is an equalizer. I am happy another network came out to compete with the two giants. Now it's a pagandahan ng palabas. Matira ang matibay for the three. And the ultimate winner among them all are the viewing public. Mabuhay TV5!!!!!
