Bayern may have lost 3-0 to RB Salzburg in a friendly encounter during their final preparation for the second half of the season. They may have proved a not so convincing 2-0 win over champs of old, Borussia Mönchengladbach. Bayern were even close to defeat, or a draw at least as they trailed for most of the time against VFB Stuttgart… but boy.
They’re back, and they are absolutely dominating the Bundesliga once more. Bayern Munich trashed Eintracht Frankfurt 5-0 at home in their “best home game to-date” according to Head Coach Pep Guardiola.
With this 5-0 home win, Bayern has ensured that they are well on the way to be crowned back-to-back Bundesliga Champions again, and that, as early as March of this year. It has also signaled Bayern’s Champions League opponent some warning that Bayern is definitely not to be taken lightly, and that, should Robbery and co be in tip-top shape come the Champions League tie, Arsenal may be hammered right out of the stadium.
Let’s not forget, however, that the Gunners caused quite a scare last year at the Allianz Arena when the Bavarians trailed to them 0-2. Only one more goal was needed then to eliminate the Bayern Munich team that has instead marched on to take the crown of Europe and a domestic double on top of that.
But hey, from the Bundesliga point of view, there’s no way that Bayern can be stopped. Specially not when the competition is losing and dropping points along the way as well.
