The 2009 UAAP Samsung Cheerdance Competition was held at the Big Dome yesterday (Sept 13, 2009). Host FEU is the new UAAP Samsung Cheer Dance champion, while Ateneo and UP followed respectively.
I was a bit busy yesterday so I was unable to watch the whole 2009 UAAP Cheerdance Competition that was held at the Araneta Coliseum and aired live through Studio 23. But I watched a decent part of it that makes me say that the winner should not be the Far Eastern University, who are coincidentally also this years host of UAAP Season 73.
UP is not the UAAP Cheerdance Champion anymore
The University of the Philippines might not be the toughest basketball team that plays in the UAAP, but they’ve proven several times to be a upset team this year. Confident of having bagged a couple of championships in the Samsung Cheerdance Competition over the past years, it wasn’t to be in favor of them this time around as they only ranked third best as the second runner up of the UAAP Cheerdance Competition.
The Blue Babble Battalion keeps knocking
Consistent runner up Ateneo de Manila dubbed as the Blue Bubble continued their consistency as runner up as they landed a notch above last years champions as the first runner up, thus the second best in 2009. Let’s see how they’ll do next year, maybe, just maybe, the title will fall for the Blue Eagles.
The FEU Tamaraws just performed excellent. Well, I have to note that, but it wasn’t anything worth of being the first placer for this year, because their moves have been hybrid moves of other cheering squads over the years, well, it might look good, but original? Partly, but not totally.
What is your say about the UAAP Cheerdance Competition 2009? Are the winners justified or not?
hi.
i was disappointed that UST didnt make it to the TOP 3. I thought UST did bettter than UP. it so happened that UP have great gymnasts. FEU on the other hand was excellent during the competition. The routing was very smooth, gymnastic skills are WOW and the stunts were all perfectly executed. KUDOS to the FEU Pep Squad. For the Blue Babble Battalion, they were a surprise and a disappointment to other team such as Adamson and UST. Their routine may be typical but they executed it very well especially the Michael jackson thing.
I'm sure that the competition next year will more thougher and more surprising for all schools and expectators and cheerleading enthusiast.

vice ganda: ng dahil jan eto score ko (7)
Actually i was unable to watch this year cheer dance competition but i read a lot comments. Anyway it was surprising that UST did not make it to the top 3 since everyone knows how hard the rivalry between UP and UST. I watched the videos online and i would say that FEU did a great job because they perform their routine smoothly, fantastic gymnastic and very well coordinated Congrats to the Tamaraws. As for Ateneo they did good and surprisingly they came up in the 2nd place good job Blue Battalion! UP is very good, very entertaining and we all know how good UP is right? but for this season let us welcome those new teams that really exert their efforts and do their best. I'm excited to see next year competition because i know UST salinggawi will fight back and as for UP they might grab the 1st place. Congratulations to everyone! 🙂
i believe that UST should be one of the winners. UST have the best stunts, yun nga lang di msyado malinis. unlike sa FEU, the steps or the whole routine were easy thats why its clean. and im just curious, whats the connection of the chicken in FEU, is it because of the theme of the cheerdance?
sorry for being bias :))
congrats to evryone na lang.
I SO AGREE WITH YOU. 🙂 Kung palinisan lang pala ang laban edi dapat chinese garter na lang yung laro o piko. :))))

Everyone did a great job so don't be too bias if your school didn't win this year's competition.. 🙂 maybe question the judges or you can judge the next cheerdance competition lol 🙂 peaceout! congrats to everyone 🙂
Feu just had the perfect execution. Ateneo surprised us with their innovation. No comment for UP. && Go USTe. 🙂
gosh! TAMARAWS fyt fyt!
pero love ko rin yung DLSU! animo ‘ spirit!
i love UP pep squad 🙂
nice ung cheerdance nila! love it!
Great Job FEU!
if you'll rate the degree of difficulty from 1 to 10. UP obviously has the highest. they wouldnt ommit mistake if they didnt execute difficult stunts. Maybe that's the reason why they won 3rd place in the 2009 Cheerleading International in Japan. For ADMU, i love how they gave tribute to MJ. I love the moonwalk thing. But there are many gossips, that ADMU shouldnt be on the top 3, UST perhaps "daw". For AdU, they're one of my bets for the top 3, but i 'm quite disappointed with their performance this year. i would suggest them to think simple concepts. For UST, good performance, but u should have played it clean. For NU, DLSU, UE.. great performances this year. and for this year's champ, FEU… Congratulations. but you should think of new things that crowd will recognized. I love how you performed your entry. very clean, but it would be better if you'll show more difficulties. Congratulations to all
well the top 3 teams are deserving! hopefully U.E MAKE IT NEXT TIME!
