There are some people who can’t pull down their pride, which led to several small debates across Plurk, Facebook and this very blog regarding my opinion, or should I say my questions that I left in a earlier post of mine regarding the Mindanao Blogger Summit III in Cagayan de Oro last weekend. If you think that there is nothing good that I took from it, then you are wrong, because there are more than five things that I can take as a lesson from the summit that I may have not learned anywhere else.
- Davao City is my very home.
And nothing, but the MBSCDO made me realize this more. There have been times when I went to Manila that the traffic piled up along the streets made me miss Davao more than anything and made me say that I’ll never complain about the traffic back in Davao. My first and only visit in General Santos, at the other hand made me appreciate every breath I take in Davao more, due to the hot and dense weather conditions -that we had during our visit-.
All these small occasions made me love Davao more, but still it didn’t made me appreciate this place which has served me as my home since the fifth grade of elementary.
It was in Cagayan de Oro though, when everything has changed. The small streets making me remember the front of San Pedro. The Divisoria as an extended version of the Rizal Promenade. And the view from Divine Mercy Shrine (El Salvador) just like the view from the Shrine Hills. Not only that; the various expensive Coffee Shops made me miss Davao City’s Kangaroo too. There’s truly nothing like it, nothing like the home, your true home.
- Blogging isn’t for geeks, it’s getting mainstream
I used to ignore the fact that blogging is entering the mainstream already, it’s not only limited to geeks or people who have internet connections at their homes, but it is starting to become something that everyone is gonna exercise which makes me realize too that.. And oh, don’t forget the morning Politician Sessions.
- Adsense is one thing, but there is more.
I might be earning (arguably much, for some) in Adsense, but I cannot rely on it. Well, I shouldn’t be thinking about money at all anymore, and rather concentrate about something better, higher, solid. Ask yourself this: What happens to Adsense when everyone is a blogger and is aware that these advertisements are adsense advertisement?
- There is always someone, who appreciates you.
At times when everything seems too hard, people start turning your back, there is always someone who appreciates you and what you do. Janette Toral’s words of wisdom inspired me even more to do what I used to do with this website, and to continue strive to reach a new objective for this blog. It’s always nice when people believe that you are talented, and I’m sure that there is someone out there who believes that you’ve got talent too, but are just not ready to voice it out to you yet.
- Always put a goal ahead of you.
If you stop dreaming about something big, you’ll never be something big. But a goal ahead of you, set your plans for your future and try to reach it step by step. Not following PBA nomination for my blog meant was a shot in the water, and I just can’t explain how much I envy the winners, or even just the nominees. When you reach a goal, go ahead and reach out for another.I stopped at one point, and look where it lead me, down down the road from how my blog was looked and admired at a year back.
- It’s not just about Davao, Gensan, CDO
Just like I mentioned above that blogging is going mainstream, it is not just about Davao, Gensan, and CDO. Bloggers from other cities are emerging, Zamboanga, Iligan; to name couple. It is spreading all over Mindanao, the Mindanao Bloggers community along with the number of bloggers nationwide is exponentially growing.
- It is not all about blogging.
I noted it before, but I have to say it again. Socializing is something that every blogger (well, everyone human being) needs. Meeting the dozens of bloggers at the sumit made me realize it more than anything, lots of new people, and lots of people that I haven’t heard about or seen for months, like Runel and Bam.
A bonus lesson learned.
- Don’t engage in a debate with bloggers from Cagayan de Oro City
Woopra Statistics reveal that there have been multiple page views coming from the same I.P address from Cagayan de Oro City yesterday on a few (adsense containing) pages of the blog. Coincidentally, my adsense got clicked bombed. I think you can figure out what I am trying to say with that.

Where are your ads? Are you suspended/banned by Google already?
Hidden. Actually adsense ads are still on the blog, but WSA is helping me out to cover the click bombers.
Ayay. Intriga nanaman sa bonus realization!
kh8 aq cguro mapipikon sa mga desperate pipol na un
Exactly.
Eh ano naman kung intriga? Mag contribute ka na kaya ulit sa blog? What about that? ahaha.
I thought na medyo over ka magreact doon sa post mo, kahit tama ka at may point talaga.
Pero mag click bomb ng adsense account dahilan sa post mo, mas over un!! mkhang naging influential ka sa kanila! congrats to having no adsense ads displayed!! haha kidding
Relake ka na lang Kevin! 🙂 Let losers be and do your best to protect your AdSense since uso ata talaga ang crab complex na naman these days! Relake ka na lang. Nakakapanget mairita. 🙂
@Joseph..ano influential si kevin..??tama bah ang nabasa ko…???i don't think so na influential tong batang to…kong influential tong taong to di sana sya sunod-sunoran sa ibang tao dya..kawawa naman…hahha
You need to take everything serious, eh?
Bitter lang kayo natamaan ka rin yata sa mga pinagtatanong nya eh!
Well, he is influential in a sense to you, kasi his post makes you react, if you still don't get the point then you're truly hopeless.
@Princess…hahhaha..kawawa kanaman sunod-sunaran ka din sa ina-akal mong influential kuno…I'm not reacting natatawa lang ako sa mga ginagawa ng batang to…subrang OA kong mag react…by the way @Princess I'm not from CDO participant din ako kagaya nya….hito bah ang mga site nya..?

SEO expert kuno pero wala namang kaalam-alam..tsaka yong share nya sa summit walang kwenta yong that's for beginners like him..sowe if i touch your EGO…hhahhaha
Inggit ka lang yata dyaan. Do I need to disclose all projects that I'm working on? I guess I don't. These are projects that I'm doing for fun, this doesn't include the websites for people that I'm working for, how could you be so narrow minded and limit yourself to things that you see, clearly, you don't know how to think. Leave a link to your blog nga, if you're so great than you speak 🙂
Okay . . I think this is going too far already. First of all, everyone has the right to speak up their mind. What readers were reacting to Kevin is his article, not his personality. If people say he's influential or not, who cares? That's how they see the person. The term there is respect. If you guys have something against his opinion, make a comment ABOUT THE OPINION. Please, we are attendees of the Summit, I guess we all share the same sentiment. Sana magkahiusa ta. The theme there is Mindanao Bag-uhon Ang Pananaw. If we fellow bloggers start stabbing each other's personalities, what do you think would happen to Mindanao? Please, react to the opinion, but not the personality.
@Kevin Paquet this is the Test Lang..you ask me to leave a link to my blog then I leave a link to my blog…This is one of my new blogs that I have…
@Marion Go you right..:-)
that's a response from a mature person. i commend you for that.
the other people just won't listen here nga lang, that's the problem.
Hello Kevin, I am one of the participants and I am not disappointed about the event. I learned a lot on the summit and kudos to all organizers.
I am just very sad that you are disappointed about the summit because you didn't get a free shirt that was sponsored by a politician, then you got disappointed about the summit for the attendees didn't reach 300, I think in the press release the number of participants they put in it is just base on the fact that there are around 300 bloggers who pre-registered, but didn't show on the event because of some circumstances and number one of that is the payment. The organizers cannot control who should come to the event, right? So, that point shouldn’t be questioned.
About the kits, I didn’t join the summit because of the kits, I joined the summit because I wanted to learn something, and the kit is nothing compare to all the knowledge I acquired in the summit.
So, I think you are just coming to the event because:
*You want a free t-shirt
*You want to get a kit
*You want to see a lot of bloggers in the flesh
And you don’t care about the talks and the main purpose of the MBS.
And I also heard that of all the participants, you are the one using one of the hotel rooms that the Organizers booked for the MBS core and Speakers for free. How was that? You didn’t even thank them because you are getting free accommodations from the organizers whom you got disappointed with during the event.
I don't care about the morning session, when the politicians were talking. I texted Blogie a thank you for offering me and Charles the other vacant room (if you count him as one of the organizers, well, then I have thanked them already).
Here a few bits from the press release:
It will make you think twice, when you look back at the attendance of the event itself and compare it to the number that they have mentioned. It doesn't looks good to my eyes, and I'm sorry if you can't see what I see.
The t-shirt, I don't mind that anymore, especially now that I got to know that it was sponsored -yet a gain by a politician-.
The kit? What was in that kit, let me think, I think there was some blogger -not me, I tell you- who was disappointed about it, because it contained lots of stuff from the politicians again.
I honestly haven't seen the main purpose of the Mindanao Bloggers Summit this year, no, not with the politicians talking with "their campaign for 2010" in their heads. I am disappointed by the three points that I raised, it doesn't mean and I never said that the whole event was a fail, I was just unable to follow up this post because of other matters that came my way.
If you went to MBS2, then you know the difference between between the summits. I hate to compare, but I think that I must right now.
Probably, MBS2 would have been like MBS3 if it would've been as close to election than this years summit, but we never know. I hope you respect that I dislike the fact that there have been Politicians talking, and talking (with their campaign for 2010 in their head, again).
I joined the summit to hear about change in Mindanao and what we can look forward to in future for Mindanao and the bloggging community here, yet it doesn't looks as bright as I hoped with the (political) morning speakers aligned in the morning.
:):-)
OK, now I got it… you are very inconsistent with your very lame points… that lead me to think that you are pathetic blogger pointing out some very lame excuses to be disappointed about.
You are just a kid anyway and you think like you can change the world with your pathetic ignorant mind, so I leave that to you because there are no point arguing with you here.
I just hope you succeed on making your readers believe that you are earning this big with your adsense because base on the statistics on your blog with the tools I have used, there's no way you can earn 400 dollars a day anyway. and I call that liar!
Please, go ahead and ask Lyle Santos again 🙂
Or check out this post
https://pinoyteens.net/2009/04/manny-pacquiao-vs-r…
or this post
https://pinoyteens.net/hot-and-spicey-update-from-…
If you still doubt.
Obviously, my stats at present are not that good than before, because I'm busy with other things more important than blogging.
Go ahead, ask Lyle Santos if these two posts still won't make you believe. Maybe Lyle has added a few dollars to the actual earnings because he might have forgotten the exact amount, but he isn't too far away.
That is a step too far, again, crossing the line at personalan naman ang issue.
Don't show your insecurities. He wouldn't lie, most especially Lyle wouldn't lie.
because there are no point arguing with you here.
There are no point nga, because it should be is no point or are no points. IDIOT.
I just hope you succeed on making your readers believe that you are earning this big with your adsense because base on the statistics on your blog with the tools I have used
Cool tools you used, kay base man gyud instead of based.
Before you bash around, please see to it that you are as perfect as you seem to be with your words.
You dare come to think that Kevin is a liar? It wasn't Kevin who said 400, it was Lyle. I am not blaming him, he might have overdone it a bit, but Kevin earned more than 350 a day back then, which is not too far fetched. Get a life, seriously 🙂
I wonder what tools that are, Alexa? What else could you use? The buttons here? Sorry eh, I can't think of any tools that make sense, because there are actually no tools to it, as long as you know your way around the things you're doing, those things become insignificant.
Amen.
Your unfinished thought will lead to another bash, tingnan mo.
You know who's the kid here? YOU are the kid! The perfect epitome of an immature individual stuck in an old person's body! Why? For one, you kept on calling Kevin names–THIS is the perfect manifestation of an immature individual. You also don't know how to ground your opinions. How does your name-calling concern the Summit in any way? Tell me. TELL ME.
Number two, it's a KID's trait to say something that has unfounded grounds. What tools have you used? If I were the one to do what you just did, I could have linked people here to screenshots of the so-called "TOOLS" that you used. Nasaan ba? If you call Kevin "a kid who thinks like he can change the world with his pathetic ignorant mind", look at yourself in the mirror and read your previous comment all over and over again. Now who's the PATHETIC and IMBECILE KID who thinks she can change this whole exchange with her LIES? 🙂
Another thing, if Kevin does not make a bank through AdSense, why the hell would JEALOUS people spend so much time clicking his links devotedly just for his rating to go down? God. I think you lost your mind in Cagayan De Oro when you attended the Summit! Or wherever cesspit you went. Use your head girl. You're nothing but a coward dog ranting about something you don't even understand. As a participant, Kevin has the right to get disappointed because he PAID for that Summit! Buti sana kung free ano? You can go to stellar Summits and/or Conferences with 500 bucks! So it's a huge disappointment that the quality of the Summit was like that. He has the right to ask questions and complain. So why the angst and hate? Don't be hypocrites by saying na okay yung Summit. Because kahit kaninong average REASONABLE person mo itanong, PANGET yung Summit! Okay? Tama na.
Elibs sana ako sa "tools" mo kaso lang HALATA namang drawing eh! Wag mo nga kaming pinaglololoko rito. And doon sa mga nagsasabing Kevin made this for the sake of traffic, HINDI KAMI NATUTUWANG MGA CONTRIBUTORS NA GANITO UNANG NABABASA MO SA UMAGA PAG LOG-IN NAMIN! Please nga wag nyo kaming itulad sa inyo kasi kami, we can do many relevant things in our hands UNLIKE you guys na hindi makatulog nang hindi nambabash ng mga tao.
This is the first AND LAST time I will be commenting here. Palakpakan for you, Maricel whoever for pulling my string and urging me to comment. Tama nang kakadrawing.
yes you should back of, Don’t engage in a debate with bloggers from Cagayan de Oro City, you don't know what they can do online, better shut up dude
I must agree on this reply..:)
Bitter ka lang Kevin… ngano kaha… epekto ni kay gibulagan ka ug bae? kalooy… bata pa gani bitter na kaayo ka. Eat more ampalaya…
ako iniwan ng babae, LOL, anong koneksyon, ayan personalan nananaman. kaluoy ba ninyo oi.
Personalan napud!!
Napalaw naman about sa Adsense Earnings in which you claimed Kevin to be a LIAR!! hahaha.
Mga sour bitter people talaga, ano bang meron? Dos kvin earn more than you do in a month with regular work kaya ganun ang reaction nyo?
TO think of it, he is still a young adult and has a long way to travel and may exceed you, you and all of you in no time.
Put your money where your mouth is.
Show us you're better than him, the way you react, you're way off.
Personalan kung personalan… basta… as long as nandito pa yang adsense sa mga blogs mo di kita tatantanan… I will make it a hobby to go to internet cafes and try giving you gifts of dollars on your adsense. Hmmmm… how about half hour every net cafe? siguro enough na yun and then I will hop to another cafe and do the same…
Ganun lang yun… if you are bitter, ako din. I will make sure you will earn thousands of adsense clicks everyday. Para yung sinasabi mong 400 dollars earnings EVERYDAY will come true. Para naman di ka mapagsabihan na liar di ba?
More personalan pa…
Akala mo sino kang payat at pangit kang bata ka. Feel mo gwapo ka… Yabang pa… eh natural dami pera eh… pinapadalhan ng pera ng parents abroad, so ano pa ma-eexpect natin eh di spoiled Brat pinoy teens.
What the fuc* . . Hey assh*les, look at yourselves. Unsa na man ni? Have you guys already lost it? What happened to ethics? And you guys call yourselves bloggers? If that's what this is all about, then count me out. P*tang ina nakakadiri na to.
*Ahem* Sorry . . Pardon me for a while there. I just came back from a long trip from Bukidnon and that trip almost made my body collapse. Prior to that, the whole morning and afternoon was spent outside the street of COMELEC under the friggin' heat of the sun. After COMELEC, then Bukidnon. So probably you guys could imagine the boulder I'm carrying on my back. I was supposed to plurk a message before I sleep tonight, but then I saw this particular link that led me here. And boy, this really fuc*ed my night up.
Okay, last na talaga toh.
Ingon ani man gud ni o, yati binisay-on pa lugar ni? Screw this. If you guys don't understand it the first time, then allow me to clear it up for you the last time. Kung dili pa jud masabtan, I don't know what the fu*k I'm gonna make out of this.
You guys are straying WAY out of the line. And this type of propaganda is WAY below the belt. Too low that, in fact, all that's left for you to hit is dirt and mud. I really don't want to call out names, but what the heck–Maricel, you already made your point the first time you posted. I think those sentences were enough for you to make your point. Okay na sana yun eh. Kaso, dinagdagan mo pa. Because you shared your opinions, it's only natural that Kevin give his thoughts. Now, wala tayong magawa if Kevin thinks like the way he does. That's his right, like you also have the right to blurt out yours. It just so happens that Kevin does not think like the way you do, and that's what started all this commotion. And this is not even a reason for us to start a commotion. This is a space where we could freely exchange thoughts and ideas. Kevin did what you, and everyone else for that matter, have been privileged to do. From the looks of it, it seems like you were disappointed for not being able to change Kevin's mind. Guys, we have no right to stab someone's dignity or slander him in front of the world, no matter what the cause. Haven't you thought about the same thing being done to you? If the case is 'getting even' when someone else has a different opinion than yours, please reconsider all the media killings that happened in the last four fu*king decades–you guys might just be part of the scene. In the simplest sense, this all boils down to respecting each other. The kid didn't curse you or call you a fu*king liar for your opinion, so don't do the same to the kid.
Do I have to apologize for my reaction? As of now, I do not know. It's not usually my habit to butt in to issues of this type of nonsense. Pfh . . Please . . Beating at someone's earnings? What the heck are you thinking? Did you get passed your mid-20s for you to be concerning yourself on other people's salaries? You keep telling the kid to grow up. I guess you should tell that to the mirror also.
Guys. Opinions–that's what these are. If a guy has an opinion, then that's his privilege. If you don't like his opinion, then share yours. If that doesn't change his/her mind, then don't feel bitter then try and kill the person.
And what's this with Tira and the SEO Expert and BlackHotter (it feels kinda awkward reading out the name like that) about debating against bloggers from Cagayan de Oro. Put*ng ina, Kagay-anon ko bai! Shove those words up your ass. Dinhi ko na-tao ug nagdako, ayaw ra daw dao-ta ang pangalan sa Cagayan. Ka-baga ba nimo ug dagway dal-on ang pangalan sa Cagayan. And you feel so damn proud saying those lines.
Yun ang masakit dun eh. I am a blogger living here in Cagayan de Oro City, I attended the seminar, I enjoyed the summit myself, and I was able to read about some of the participants having complaints on how the summit was organized. Of course, as a fellow blogger from Cagayan de Oro City, for a moment there I was like, ouch. But then, hey, that's how the person felt. We couldn't do anything about it but feel bad. Then I saw some of the fellow bloggers from Cagayan de Oro City pouring out their lament over how bad they feel about this stuff and that stuff and tried to explain their side. Some guy even thanked him anyway. Again, of course, as a blogger from Cagayan de Oro myself, this was a pinch to my heart. And then I thought, yeah, we just couldn't please everyone. And that's just natural. Everyone has their own standards. Siguro lang ang pagkakamali na nagawa ni Kevin was that he was too rash to blog about it online. But then again I thought, hey that's his freedom to enjoy. He has every right to do that in the first place. Mejo harsh nga lang, but no matter how hard you shake the picture up, down and sidewards, all of us are legitimate to do that. As part of our right, we could explain to him the reason behind all those shortcomings and make him hear our side. But then all of a sudden all these bullsh*ts come out pointing a gun at him, and I was like, hold on a second–now that doesn't seem quite right. That's way out of line. Here's another gun pointed back at ya.
I think I clearly made my point.
And on this last comment, what the f*ck is this about? Are you on drugs? Or talagang dinidemonyo ka lang talaga? Are you hearing what you're saying? Dili ka kasukaon? You're no better than the killers and rapists your psychotic mind is made of. Screw you, and your whole humanity. I mean, peste ka pala.
Guys, you're hopeless. Unless you change your ways, the sentence prior to this holds true. Think about what your doing. Nakasalubong na ba kayo ng makulit na bata sa daanan? Para na rin niyong hinampas ang ulo ng bata ng paulit-ulit sa bato hanggang namatay ang walang kamuwang-muwang, instead of teaching him what not to do. . . .
Di sana ako makikialam, pero pagkatao na pinaguusapan dito and mode of income na pinakikialaman. And I don't think they understood my first comment.
Ok marion… I got you blog… thanks… for your concerns… I will add you on the list with pinoyteens blog to gave dollars everytime I visit cafes… yun lang…
You remind me of a dumbass a few years back when we, Kevin and Izy Mae started this website. That guy back then was a desperate forum owner with terrible English and no proof to whatever he's been saying.
He was such a looser and I never thought someone could be worse than him, but now.
Hala . . Dammit . . You're hopeless. Go get a life.
Whatta-War going on here. LOLz
The author posted what he felt about the summit. The bashers commented on what they feel about his post. The author replied along with some people here about the bashers' comments.
As what a fellow Kagay-anon said here in his comment – "everyone has the right to speak up their mind"
Generally, I find this post – so teen. Nalingaw gihapon ko basa.
I hope next theme would be, bloggers – tarungon ang kaugalingon (chavacano translation?)
Matud pa sa kanta sa akong idol na ganahan gihapon ug teen…
"If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place, Take A Look At Yourself And Then Make A Change"
m/, !!
nanananananana… love that song goms..
I think that song is "Man in the Mirror". Michael Jackson?
Hello, Darlene. 🙂
It's kinda sad how the younger society nowadays end up in these kinds of discourse. I'm talking about the ones which ended up in threatening the opposite party, and really taking into actions those threats. I live in a society where you see people on the streets hurl stones at each other and then later on you hear the sounds of 3 to 5 gunshots resonating in the air past midnight. And these for some lame reasons I couldn't imagine which demon spoiled their thoughts and take the hand to pick up that gun and pull the trigger. So maybe you'll see the reason behind my sentiment. That world is ugly. And it will never stop getting uglier with people who don't think twice before they commit such a mistake. Small as an action can be such as click bombings, calling the other person names, or slandering, it all follows the same principle–acting to harm the other party.
So, I beg everybody's pardon on just how I lost it that night. It was a pretty exhausting night for me, and seeing lines like those added up to the flames that's been smoldering my head.
To end this, I just hope everybody reading this thread got the point.
Mao ni ang gakita ug 400 dollars a DAY? tan-awa daw iyang "Mindanao Bloggers Summit 3 prepost" blog entry.
https://pinoyteens.net/mindanao-bloggers-summit-3-…
Copy lang ko sa isa ka paragraph ha:
But I still look forward to make it to the Mindanao Bloggers Summit 2009 this year, because I was absent during the said WordCamp held a month earlier in Makati. Yet there is still this little glimpse of quarrel from inside whether I should attend or not. Not because I dislike attending events like these, but because I still lack money. Money for the fare, and probable accommodation (because my friend didn’t respond yet, urgh). I want to make it to the summit to start engaging the local blogging community in Mindanao and start networking again, which would then be the sign of a true restart of everything I’ve been doing on the internet the over the past year.
Wow… you really earn a lot. 400 DOLLARS a DAY? dili man ana ka expensive ang CDO. you have 400 dollars a day… so you don't have to think about your fare, and probable accommodation right?
Ayaw sad papangka sa imo pagka bakakon oi…
Dude, you should grow up. And don't use other people's name. You guys are really hopeless. Purya-gaba kaayo mo.
This was in response to a comment nga gigamit ang pangalan ni Bloggie Robillo. Pero kalit lang nawala.
tapos unsaon man na nato na sapnan man ko? ligid nalang sa salog bai… LOLZ!
Wait naka limot ko mag click pa diay ko karun sa imo ads…
Click pud dayon ang ako adsense ha?
Please.. forgive me. Di ko na uulitin! Forgive my Ass! Ahahahah…
