Tornado hits Iloilo towns

Not only Cebu was hit by a tornado. A Tornado hit a handful of towns in Iloilo last Monday night in between 10PM – 11PM.

Sources say that according to Jerry Bionat, executive officer of Iloilo Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO,) the tornado hit the towns of Oton, Pavia, Barotac Nuevo and San Miguel. 70 houses were totally damaged and 115 partially damaged from these 4 towns.

Two barangays from Pavia, namely, Cabugao Sur and Cabugao Norte are said to have suffered the most from the tornado that hit Iloilo.

Despite the notable damage the tornado has done to almost 200 houses, a state of calamity has not been issued since less than 20% of the population has been affected by the tornado attack.
