UPDATE: News Update on Super Typhoon Yolanda / Haiyan has been published!
Super Typhoon Yolanda (International Codename: Typhoon Haiyan) is intensifying and is accelerating quickly as it moves closer to the Philippines.
Given that the Yolanda’s acceleration increased from 25kph to 30kph as it heads towards the Philippines, the former expected landfall of Friday may happen this Thursday instead. In our last update about the Super Typhoon Haiyan, the name it is known internationally, the said typhoon was headed to make landfall on Friday, instead of the new estimate of Saturday.
Everyone should be alert now. Specially the places that are expected to be hit by Typhoon Yolanda / Haiyan.
As for the forecast given by PAGASA regarding the incoming typhoon, the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) said that there was no significant change from its earlier forecast.
You might not feel the full force of Yolanda / Haiyan in terms of wind speed, but still be wary of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in your area.
Keep safe everyone!
