The Davao Bloggers are organizing an event called the Social Media Day – a simultaneously held event worldwide dedicated to the world of Social Media.
Whether you used to be on Friendster, are still on MySpace, use Facebook or Twitter or are even experimenting with Google Plus, Pinterest or still roam Plurk – you’re very welcome to attend this special day!
Social Media Day was started by Mashable, the “largest independent news source dedicated to covering digital culture, social media and technology”. Aiming to gather folks in various cities together to dedicate one day out of 365 days in our lives for the mediums of communication we just can’t live without.
It’s a day where you can meet likeminded people and mingle with others who are active in the various fields of Social Media. Again, may that be Twitter, Facebook, WordPress, and so on.
Social Media Day Davao 2012
Join other people from the web – from the blogging scene, tweeps, tumblr users, et al on June 30, 2012, 4PM, at MyFlexOffice, 3rd Floor KS Bldg. Sta. Ana Ave. (Infront of Penongs), Davao city.
For the participants of Social Media Day, we are encouraging everyone to use #smday and #smdaydavao as the official hashtags for Twitter updates. Through these hashtags, we can get updates from our friends all over the world who are also celebrating the Social Media Day! Don’t forget to tell (and bring!) all your friends and let’s get social!
What to expect during the SMD?
Expect to meet a lot of great people, specially the most hyperactive bloggers in town – the Davao Bloggers. You will also be treated by speakers to talk about Social Media and provide further insights. Cool prizes are also to be raffled away thanks to all the sponsors for the event!
The Pinoy Teens duo Princess Salan and yours truly, Kevin Paquet will also be present at the Social Media Day Davao 2012.
