Our very own basketball team has pulled it off and made it to the Quarter Finals of the FIBA Asia Championship. Smart Gilas Pilipinas will now have to face Chinese Taipei this 23rd of September, 2011.
Philippine Basketball team, good shot at finals
Fans of the Smart Gilas highly believe that the Philippines has a good shot at making it to the finals because the powerhouse Iran, former FIBA Champs have been ousted by Jordan who is going to be their semi final opponent once they’ve taken care of Chinese Taipei.
Reason why Smart Gilas supporters are so optimistic about the Philippines making it to the finals is the fact that the Smart Gilas has defeated the team from Jordan just recently.
Quarter Finals first, then the Semis
Rest assured that none of the upcoming games at the FIBA Asia Championship is going to be easy for the Philippines. It’s best if we concentrate at the present game and move on one step at a time. First the quarter finals, then the semis.
Before we can face Jordan we have to eliminate the Chinese Taipei and therefore put all the focus on that game first. It’s not going to be easy, and the news that Smart Gilas may face Jordan in the semis doesn’t help.
Let us all support the Philippines, hope and pray that we can advance one step closer to the finals.
