A lot of people have criticized Manny Pacquiao’s carelessness for his upcoming boxing fight against Miguel Cotto. Pacquiao has just entered his fourth training week in Philippines Summer Capital Baguio City, while his opponent on the other end has been training for a far longer time already and looks to be a decent threat to Manny Pacquiao in their November bout in the United States.
Many people have noted Pacquiao dealing with this fight a bit easy, unlike the way he tackled the matches prior this one when he looked far more aggressive and serious even in the early practice days for the preparation of those boxing fights, but I guess you all stand corrected by now.
Manny Pacquiao has been in Baguio for about 4 weeks now and might head to the United States far earlier than scheduled to continue his hard training for the fight against Miguel Cotto. The typhoons that have hit the Philippines definitely contributed to Pacquiao’s decision to head early to the States to continue practice there, but what I believe could have triggered him to do so is the fact that Cotto might be a way tougher opponent than Mayweather would be at this moment. And he certainly needs to prepare well and need to be well conditioned by the date of the fight.
Even the number one boxer in the world may eventually fail, and I can very well imagine that Pacquiao doesn’t want to experience defeat right now where he’s at a certain peak of his career.
Ferdie Marquez told the media that the people’s champs flight to the states might be this coming 19th of October, instead the 24th, which is highly probable to happen when weather conditions won’t get better in the next few days.
Pacquiao earlier planned to spend half of his eight-week training in Baguio City before flying to the US to continue his camp at Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, California.
But his adviser Mike Koncz said Pacquiao’s stay in the City of Pines could run for 4 weeks or even more. If it goes five weeks, then Pacquiao may skip Los Angeles and head directly to Las Vegas.
The storm, however, might prompt to change Pacquiao’s plans again and push through Pacquiao’s early US Training.
