Mutya Johanna Datul, the Miss Supranational 2013 winner has arrived back in the Philippines last Monday. The arrival of the newest Miss Supranational titleholder was greeted with a huge welcome from friends and the press anticipating her at the Gloria Maris Banquet Hall for a press conference.
The Isabela Native bested 82 delegates from all different parts of the world, and became not only the first Filipina to win Miss Supranational, but also end up being the first Asian to win the crown. The coronation ceremony, with Mutya Johanna Datul ending up as the winner was last September 6 in Minsk.
Aside from bragging rights for us all, Mutya Johanna Datul received $25,000 in cash on top of the Miss Supranational 2013 title.
The curious thing about the 21-year old Mutya is, that according to an interview she’s given:
“As soon as I set foot in Minsk, I felt as if there was a heavy crown on my head. I didn’t know why I felt that way, but that early, I imagined myself going back to the Philippines with the crown on my head”
She also revealed how she fared in the question and answer portion with the following answer:
“I first introduced myself in Russian, and then I said ‘I will go straight (to the point). I want to become Miss Supranational because this is my ultimate dream. I want to become an ambassador, a good example and an inspiration to many.’”
