ESL One Manila concluded in an epic fashion, with the Chinese Wings Gaming team dismantling Team Liquid 3-0 in the grand finals at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Wings Gaming, considered as one of the underdogs to the said competition has steamrolled over Team Liquid 3-0 in their best of 5 grand finals match, ending the series with an exceptional Alchemist pick. It was almost reminscent to the way OG has defeated Team Secret at the first (Frankfurt) Major with an Alchemist pick as well.
It wasn’t an easy peasy road for Wings Gaming, however, as they started out the main event at ESL One from the second round of the Lower Bracket. Team Liquid seemed unstoppable, given their 2-0 trashing against Mineski and Wings Gaming in the group stage.
Wings Gaming was able to recover from their 2-0 group stage loss to Team Liquid. They even eliminated Fnatic (with the remaining Filipino player in DJ/Chrissy) and managed a clean 3-0 victory against their European opponents.
