ESL One Manila is well on its way. Despite a handful of delays yesterday to get things started, everything seems ironed out and smooth. One thing that Filipino DotA 2 enthusiasts will consider anything but smooth is how its Philippine representative is doing.
GROUP A Results Discussion
Mineski opened their ESL One Manila journey behind closed doors with a 2-0 loss to Team Liquid. Also dropping their first match with a 2-1 result from Group A is the North American compLexity gaming who lost to Wings Gaming.
In the winner’s match, Team Liquid continues its flawless streak beating Wings Gaming 2-0 and sending them to the second round of the Lower Bracket. Team Liquid has secured itself a semifinals slot.
Mineski will open the main event with the Lower Bracket encounter against compLexity gaming, while Wings Gaming awaits the winner of the aforementioned match in the second round of the Group A Lower Bracket.
GROUP B Results Discussions
Team Secret’s debut of their new lineup could not have gone worse. Team Secret fall prey to excellent offensive gaming by Team Empire, losing 2-0 against the CIS representatives. Fnatic on the other hand, another SEA representative has done the region proud in defeating Chinese favorites EHOME with a score of 2-0.
In the following winner’s match, Fnatic continued its flawless run by beating Team Empire 2-0 and is following Team Liquid into the semifinals.
Team Secret will face EHOME in the Group B Lower Bracket encounter with Team Empire awaiting the winner of the aforementioned match in the second round.
Hopefully, the Philippine representation in Mineski can bounce back and make the local DotA 2 scene in the Philippines proud.
