Apple introduced its next-generation iPhone along with iOS 6, a new iTunes and new iPods last September 12, 2012 at their Apple Media Event.
Given that most of the rumors and leaked parts about the iPhone were confirmed to be true, there was little to be excited about for many Apple enthusiasts looking forward for something new.
While sporting decent technical specifications, the iPhone, named iPhone 5 leaves many users asking for more features like NFC and wireless charging. Probably something coming to the iPhone 6 or whatever they’ll name it (let the name wars begin, all over again)
The real eye candy of the show were the iPods that got introduced. Well, it’s a bit subjective… because for many, the new iPod Nano isn’t very appealing and looks close to a Nokia Lumia.
The iPhone without the Phone
The iPod touch, on the other hand has gotten the biggest update of all. It’s the best update yet, with only one thing letting me down: no GPS.
It makes up for no GPS with the following outstanding technical specifications though:
- 5MP Rear Camera with Autofocus, Face Detection, LED Flash, HD Video Recording 1080p back, 720p front
- A5 Processor (like the one in the iPhone 4S)
- SIRI Support
- 4″ Retina Display with 1136-by-640 pixel resolution at 326 pixels per inch
- Yet again, thinner and lighter
- and more colors!
On top of that, the iPod nano, iPod touch and new iPhone 5 will sport the new EarPods that apple introduced yesterday as well.
