DAVAO CITY – PHILIPPINES A 6.0 Magnitude Earthquake has rocked Davao City and nearby cities and provinces in Mindanao Saturday Morning (PH Time). No damage of property or loss of life has been reported as of press time.
The City Government of Davao has issued the following statement moments after an around 6.0 Magnitude strong earthquake has rocked the region.
“Davao City felt the Magnitude 6.0 earthquake that hit Mati City at 653 am today, Saturday, Sept. 24.
Central 911 Chief Emmanuel Jaldon said impact of the tremor in the city is being monitored. So far, 911 has not received calls or reports regarding this.”
People on Social Media immediately went out and about posting tweets and updates regarding the earthquake, which according to many of them has been the longest lasting and one of the strongest that they have felt.
Luckily, as of press time no one has reported any damage or loss of life. However, the said earthquake was felt all throughout Southeastern Mindanao including the Davao Region and Soccsksargen Region. The earthquake, while recorded as a strong 6.0 Magnitude one, was fortunately a rather deep earthquake which lessened its impact on the surface.
