Tacloban survivors desperate act of looting and stealing

Victims of the Super Typhoon Haiyan (local codename: Typhoon Yolanda) have gone so desperate to find food and other necessities that they have been looting and raiding local malls and businesses.

This is not a question about morality anymore. It’s about life and death. We are not in their shoes. We are not experiencing what they do. If we’d be so keen eyed on who’s immoral or not, then by now, we should not have any corrupt politicians seated in the government.

But no.

We are not better than them, maybe even worse.

These people have lost their homes. They have lost pretty much everything. There’s nothing left for them. And that’s when the desperation kicks in.

The only flaw that I see here is, that these victims of the Super Typhoon Yolanda have gone to the malls not only to pick up food supplies and sanitary necessities, but gadgets and other luxurious items as well.

I won’t further comment on that though, because again, I have not experienced what they are going through at this very moment.

“People are becoming violent. They are looting business establishments, the malls, just to find food, rice and milk…. I am afraid that in one week, people will be killing from hunger.”

Instead of judging. Help.
