Rockmelt is a free social media web browser developed by Tim Howes and Eric Vishria. Users have to sign in with Facebook to download it. This, happens for a reason. Rockmelt is a browser that updates more on your Facebook account. it has a sidebar that allows you to communicate with your friends. It also gives you updates on your friend requests, messages and notifications.

It is related to Google Chrome. Well, you see, the first time I used it, I found it interesting. You can access applications in just one click. This is because it also has a sidebar for that. It has many applications just for you. That is, with no limits.

It also integrates Twitter. It has a “Quiet mode” option if you don’t want to see the sidebars and surf the net peacefully. It also has Omnibox search. Omnibox search turns up Facebook friends, with options to open up profiles, send messages or make wall posts.

On December 13, 2010, Twitter included RockMelt as one of the top tweeted tech trends in 2010.
