What an upset for the FEU Tamaraws as the National University Bulldogs cut off their objective to get the solo lead in the team standings after the first round.
From the 3rd quarter on, it looked like the ball game will go in favor of the Bulldogs as they’ve attained their biggest lead with 50-40 over the Tamaraws, but the Tamaraws bounced back in the closing minutes of the 3rd to take control of the game. During the final quarter, the Tamaraws (who are known to do best in the 4th) took the lead with a couple of minutes to go, as then NU took the lead with 60-61.
With just 6 seconds left on the shot clock and 35 seconds game time, Jahnke hammered a crucial and yet the winning 3 point shot that upset the whole Araneta Coliseum and made all Ateneans, UST and La Salle Students shout in Joy as one of their main contender lost against the Underdogs.
That said, the NU Bulldogs win their first game of the season with the following score line:

wow UE really showed what itâs made of yesterday!! great game by both teams but UE was outstanding! it seems that DLSUâs strategy was to attack when the opponent is exhausted but they were wrong about UE! kami pa? weâre not called warriors for nothing! too bad we lost to adamson last time! and the loss to feu was disappointing! those karabaos are only good for the rice paddy fields how could we lose to those frogs?? how i hate to see the uniforms of feu! i mean green and yellow look nice together but the way they combined it is a mess!!! doesnât anyone from feu ever make criticisms about your ugly pep squad uniforms? or maybe the whole feu is just used to being âjologsâ looking?? wellâŚ.im not surprised! peace!!
