One of the most, if not the most awaited meet ups in boxing for this year, Manny Pacquiao vs Ricky Hatton is closing in. May 2 is the date dedicated to the Pacquiao-Hatton bout, one of the toughest fights for Pacquiao ever. Accompanying him during this occasion for the singing of the Philippine National Anthem will be Martin Nievera to voice out to the world our very own Lupang Hinirang.
Pacquiao played the underdog in recent matches but slowly draws attention from the crowd aside from his Filipino supporters. He loves being the underdog because at most occasions when he was the underdog, he succeeded, will he succeed again this time?
Fans of Charice Pempengco are astound with the fact that she will not be the one to lead the Philippine National Anthem, Lupang Hinirang. Maybe in an upcoming bout of Manny Pacquiao, she’ll be given the honor and the chance to present herself to the world, which she’s obviously done over and over again these past months.
Once again, it will be Martin Nievera to sing Lupang Hinirang during the Pacquiao vs Hatton bout.

Sa aking opinyon ay walang nilabag si martin sa kanyang pagkaka-awit sa ating national anthem. Ang mga artista natin ay may kanya-kanyang style o version ng pag-awit….kaya nga tinawag silang artista.
Kung gagawin man yan na kakasuhan si martin ay isa-isahin nyo nang kasuhan yung mga artista na kumanta sa mga laban ni manny noong mga nakaraang panahon para patas ang labanan. At ituro sa mga singers kung papaano ang tamang version, dahil sa aking pagkakaalam ay maraming version ang ating national anthem, may mataas ang dulo at may mababa ang dulo ng kanta. alin ba ang tama?
Sa aking palagay ay wala pong perfect na kumanta ng lupang hinirang lahat ay hindi akma sa version ng composer. At ituro ito sa mga paaralan na may Republic Act 8491, para hindi na ito maulit. Sa palagay ko ay walang perfect dito. Ito ay isang personal kong openion lamang bilang isang Pilipino. Salamat
Next time nga bago kayo kukuha ng service na ganyan ay magpa-sample muna kayo. Akala ng mga singer na ito ay they can just do what they want for the sake of art. Leche!
Too late because damage is done already. Forget about Martin. His talent is really nothing special. Sampu sampera iyong quality ng singing niya. Kahit istambay sa kanto ay kayang gayahin ang boses niya.
Lessons learned na ito para sa sino mang singer na magre-represent ng country natin with a rendition of national anthem. Don’t even think of doing another Martin NIevera rendition of Bayang Magiliw.
