As the launch of The Mark of Athena draws nearer, the anticipation of who is going to become the Seventh Demigod of the Prophecy of Seven can literally be felt among all followers of the Heroes of Olympus series.

Rick Riordan’s latest release, The Demigod Diaries left a hint that Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena, girlfriend of Percy Jackson from the Greek Camp known as Camp Half-Blood is set to be the seventh demigod of the Prophecy of Seven.

For some, it’s actually quite obvious, given all the details and information supporting Annabeth to indeed be the Seventh Demigod.

Why Annabeth Chase is the obvious choice to be the Seventh Demigod:

  • She’s been one of the Main Characters all through out Percy Jackson & The Olympians (the Book Series that Heroes of Olympus Succeeds)
  • The next book is entitled the Mark of Athena – Athena, Annabeth, you get the connection, right?
  • She has the brains – which others of the Seventh haven’t – no, I’m not saying they’re dumb… I mean, they don’t really have any strategist on the team. Percy and Jason surely know how to fight and plan a fight, but definitely not as brilliant as Annabeth.
  • The Mark of Athena will include the point of view of Annabeth – which is quite obvious, given that it’s the mark of ATHENA, right?

Of course, there are a handful of people who doubt that Annabeth is going to be the seventh. For some, the glaring evidence that leads to her being the seventh of the prophecy is just too much. Many expect a twist along the story, maybe a new character or maybe even Nico or some other demigod we have come across in the past 7 books.

Could Alabaster be the Seventh?

First off, who is Alabaster? Alabaster is the son of Hecate. He fought against Gods during the Second Titan War and sided with the forces of Kronos. Alabaster was first introduced in the demigod diaries in the last story which was written by Rick Riordian’s kid. He’s very powerful with magic and stuff. The big question though, aside from whether he’s one of the seventh is, will Alabaster fight for or against our Demigod Heroes again?

Who do you think is going to be the Seventh Demigod in the Prophecy of Seven that was first introduced to us at the end of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Last Olympian?
