Davao's Bankerohan Bridge (Generoso Bridge) to undergo rehabilitation

Commuters from Davao City may face days, or even weeks of heavy traffic starting April 23, 2014 as rehabilitation of the Generoso Bridge, or better known as the Bankerohan Bridge are set to begin.

Citizens of the lovely city of Davao are advised to detour either via the Diversion Road or head through Quimpo Boulevard to get to the ‘other side’ of Davao. Despite the inconvenience this rehabilitation may cause to commuters, as the saying goes, it’s better safe than sorry… and given that it has been a while since the last time work has been conducted at the Bankerohan Bridge, it’s good that the City Government of Davao has made the decision to fix whatever existing issue Generoso Bridge has.

Those who have cars shouldn’t be too much affected by this… but all the jeepney drivers of so many routes are going to be severely affected by this.

Routes affected by the Generoso / Bankerohan Bridge rehabilitation include but is not limited to the following:

• Southbound Toril Routes
• Ecoland Subd.
• Route 2A
• South and Northbound Matina Routes
• Southbound Calinan and Mintal Routes
• All Maa Routes
• Talomo Routes
• Puan Routes
• Ulas Routes
• and many, many more.

Another Alternative Route during the Bankerohan Bridge Rehabilitation

Most Commuters from Maa have more or less experienced riding a cab. And whenever someone from Maa does so, they rarely pass by the Generoso Bridge. Taxi’s usually go through Marfori Road. We commend that you continue using the Marfori Road for the mean time (instead of heading all the way to the Diversion Road or head to Quimpo Boulevard.
