Climate change is becoming more and more a concerning issue for filipinos, especially considering that the Philippines is an island nation along the volcanic ring of fire. If water levels were to continue rising at a steady pace and typhoons were to delvelop to be even more devastating, our beloved nation would end up to be fully innundated and leave inhabitants at a new level of emergency than in Ondoy 2009. Although this may prove to be an inevitable problem, it doesn’t stop this issue from being addressed before thousands of people are affected. As Earth Day, April 22, is quickly approaching, looking for ways to contibute?

The Philippine Youth Climate Movement unites communities to unite and mobilize Filipinio youth to take action in their communities to advocate environmental awareness. The PYCM goal is to build and strengthen local and international youth alliances working towards environmental conservation and also to promote environmental education. On World Forest Day, March 21, PYCM has launched a 1 million tree youth challenge. Currently, they are campaigning with Sen. Loren Legarda nationwide in schools to motivate youth in their movement. At present, they have already managed to engage 30,000+ students and accomodate 1,000+ members. Impressive right?

At present, they are looking for young people to become Climate Heroes, young stewards of the environment, and Climate Leaders, advocates of environmentalism, in their community.

Pinoy Teens is a proud Youth Partner of the SEA Change Movement. Help us spread this event and their advocacy to our fellow Filipino Youth and win a trip to KL!

Hello everyone,

I’m delighted to inform you once again that Pinoy Teens Online is one of the selected Youth Partners of the Youth Engagement Summit 2009 (YES 2009) which means that all of you who will participate in the SEA Change Program through the survey will be given the chance to be part of the 5,000 youth that’ll be able to attend the said summit in Kuala Lumpur this November for free.

<center><img src=”http://pinoyteens.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/RECT_ADS-copy1.jpg”>

But it isn’t just that simple, although, honestly, it is. All you need to do is visit their site and join the simple survey asking you a couple of questions like what kind of change you want to have in your country or in your community and you’re ready to go, we’ll have your fingers crossed for that!

However, we’re in need of a little bit help from you, as we desire to have as many Filipinos as possible take advantage of this little raffle, but most importantly to have as many Filipinos as possible voice out their opinions and point of views about what kind of change they want and are willing to support in their respective community and for our country, that’s why we task you to help us in spreading this information, circulating it anywhere and everywhere possible where you find it suitable to be shared. The more the merrier, let’s show the other countries that we are also willing to put our hands to work to have this SEA Change program circulated. The question now would be, how can you help us?

You can download a text file that contains a default template that you can use on forums and on your blogs (don’t worry, there’s no DOFOLLOW link to US if you think we’re just trying to harvest links, because we don’t do that). You can view the download URL right at the bottom of the post.

It’s also recommended that you extend the kind of support you show to us by informing your Principal, Student Leaders about this and getting them involved and contact us. Especially in Davao City, where we’d be more than delighted to showcase a little presentation about SEA Change and suitable changes that could be applicable in our country. We would be very happy if you will get yourself involved in our mission to have this SEA Change Program circulated all around!

CLICK HERE IF YOU WANT TO JOIN THE SURVEY

Here’s the file.

It contains the following message:

Sender : Forums / Online youth communities

Target : Members

Subject Title : Pinoy Teens is sending our members to represent our country for YES2009~!

Before the week ends, I’d like to introduce another femalel Pinoy Teenager of ours. Her name is stated in the title of this article.

Shaihyie Dequina is one of the active commentors on Pinoy Teens Online, she’s also one of the lucky winners of a free domain name that we’ve given away in our raffle contest last May 2008. You can also be one by subscribing to our email newsletter, or if you’re subscribed already, by staying subscribed since our June raffle is nearing.

She’s a 15 year old Female Teen coming from San Pablo City, Philippines. At her young age she’s used to blog and is one of the many friendster addicts, whilst her only difference is that besides being a friendster addict, she makes use of multiply as well. She’s someone who isn’t very much into texting, but if you ask her for a chat session, bet she’ll accompany you for some fun time.

Ahmm.. Being one of my virtual friends, what I can say about her is that she’s a quite cute and impressive girl, I haven’t blogged that well nor designed anything at her age before. Though, I’ve created forums or so, but zero blogging and designing at all, even until now, I don’t design.

Last but not the least, her concept of life says:

It’s better to give, than to receive..
