You got three little orphan kids, an army of genetically mutated corn puffs and a cuddly villian. Nothing out of the ordinary right? Universal Pictures presents a laugh out loud, animated comedy about Gru, voiced by Steve Carell, struggling to become the world’s greated super villain and outdoing his evil nemisis while looking after a trio of spirited girls.

The Karate Kid

Already number 1 in box office sales, The Karate Kid starring Jaden Smith and the legendary Jackie Chan revisits the Karate Kid Series in a whole new light. Twelve year old hipster, Dre Parker (Smith),  is relocated from Detriot to China where he immediately feels the lapse in culture. Befriending maintenance man, Mr. Han (Chan), Dre learns how to find a place for himself through the art of  kung fu. 

Toy Story 3

Andy is all grown up now and heading for college, leaving behind his childhood friends, Woody, Buzz and the rest of the gang. The party of toys find themselves in Sunnyside Day Care where kids do not play nice. Finding new friends, such as Ken the Barbie doll the old gang venture to find their escape and to go back home to the boy they care about.

Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Eclipse, the third movie of the Twilight Saga, follows Bella  Swan investigating a series of killings in Seattle during her senior year. Bella must choose between her forbidden relationship with vampire Edward Cullen and her friendship with werewolf Jacob Black, knowing that the tension between vampires and werewolves hangs in the balance.

Avatar The Last Airbender

No, Avatar the Last Airbender may not feature blue people but definately has the potential to live up to a hype as big as Avatar.  A live action film adaptation to the Nickelodeon television series, Avatar the Last Airbender follows Aang, a young airbender who holds the responsibility to save the world from destruction. Director M. Night Shyamalan, the director and producer of reknown movies such as The Sixth Sense,  reillustrates the Asian influenced cartoon beautifully with high quality graphics.  This movie will be part one of an anticipated trilogy.

Thoughts from the Author

 As one who is not partial to modern adaptations or elongated series, I am always worried that movies these kinds of movies may not be loyal or reduce the quality of the orginal. Nevertheless, I am sure that The Karate Kid and Toy Story 3 will certainly induce nostalgia in the the hearts of their audiences.

The fact that barely a year has lapsed between productions of Twilight movies is concerning. Most movies that have stretched out to become series have dedicated as much as 2 years to become sucessful such as Harry Potter or the Bourne trilogy. Are the producers just trying to quickly deliver to the dying fan base? As the majority of the audience of teenage girls, many tend to grow up and uninterested in this subject matter. Hopefully the quality of the film will not be impacted.

Despicable Me is definately a movie to watch out for. Just catch a trailer on youtube and you will see that this movie has got what it takes to sell out the box office. Those adorable kids will get cha’.

Out of the five movies, Avatar the Last Airbender is a real winner. After watching all four seasons of the animated series, I have been waiting for Avatar since I heard of its pending movie production two years ago. Although the cast of per majority caucasian actors may leave some avid Avatar fans with doubt, I’m still hopeful that Avatar will not disappoint.

Salvador was said to have dated Carlo Aquino during the taping days of her latest soap opera Nagsimula Sa Puso which is clearly not the case anymore. Maja Salvador has Rambo Nunez as her new boyfriend for this year 2010. Rambo Nunez is the son of Richard Gomez’s assistant Marilen Nunez and is said to be very much into modeling.

I’m thankful to all of you who have joined me in my journey through the world of New Media “Blogging”. All the people that have inspired me, complimented me, and even those who have, at times, insulted me. Well, at least it’s good to know that I don’t know any of those insulting people personally :p

Pinoy Teens is entering its 2nd new year, already. The second new year we’re hitting as a blog that aims to serve you through education, information and entertainment. Three fields that seem to be too “wide” and broad for a three to four man team to coupe with. I know a lot of you are really wondering or intrigued about the words I leave you, but let me tell you this, I know what I’m saying and what I’m doing here with this website and we’re certainly not on the road of a downfall like many pointed out. You (haters) know that I have by far exceed yours and even my expectation about this website.

I really wish and hope that 2010 will be a much better year than 2009, that everything tragic that happened this year won’t happen again. Let’s 2009 be a warning call to all of us that we need to keep our environment in mind in everything that we do else, we might experience a more fierce revenge of Mother Nature in a not so distant future.

The Paramore is popular for being the band behind the the songs in the Twilight Saga soundtracks. personal favorite of mine when it comes to their songs is Decode. 

Ticket sales for Paramore shall begin on December 8 so stay tuned and watch out when exactly everything is going to happen.
