President Noy Aquino Mission – Attest Democracy Exist in the Philippines

Just like everybody, President Aquino agreed that the arrest of SPO2 Gregorio Mendoza, the hostage takers brother was a big mistake and triggered the bloody ending. But President Aquino carefully avoided mentioning Mayor Fred Lim in his answers to the panel. He didn’t even confirm Mayor Lim’s testimony that P-Noy called him at 1:30 p.m. It was not also clear what he did from late afternoon to evening before going to Emerald.

It is now time for the Philippine president to demonstrate to the world; not only to the Chinese and Pilipino people, that there is no dirty politics being played on the crisis. It was Mayor Fred Lim who called the shots hence, be held responsible in Monday’s bungled hostage drama that left eight Chinese tourists dead, their captor riddled with bullets and the Philippine image overseas severely tarnished. President Noy Aquino should take in for questioning Mayor Fred Lim; who was on top of the situation as head of the crisis management committee rather than avoiding mentioning Mayor Fred Lim in his answers to the panel.

President Noy Aquino is not even politically indebted to the deceitful Fred Lim. On the contrary, recorded events of old will tell us that Fred Lim has been building up his image during EDSA 1. As Commanding General, Lim was not brave enough to confront the angry demonstrators and was cowardly hiding in small Antique shop in P. Tuazon the whole time laden with fear. General Lim ordered Colonel Dawis to disperse the crowd in EDSA at all cost upon the order of then President Ferdinand Marcos. The brave Colonel defied Gen. Lim's orders and told him that he will not disperse the crowd who were just expressing their grievances peacefully.
