Predicting: Manny Pacquiao vs Oscar De la Hoya

November 30, 2008

People’s Champ Manny “The Pacman” Pacquiao kicked off in being a National Boxing Sensation, who grew beyond expectations to a Internationally Competitive Boxing Icon which a lot of people look up to and adore. Especially the people from his hometown, General Santos City and the people from the Philippines in General.

Pacquiao is one of the very few who was able to lift the Philippines to a higher level, to make us feel special Manny Pacquiao "Give us this day"and be proud about something. There might be other sports that several Filipinos are good at, but Boxing seems to be the sport that made the Philippines the most Popular.

During his last Five Matches, Pacquiao was able to knock down three of them, will he be able to get rid of the fourth this December Sixth? Or will it be another anonymous decision, or even yet a loss? The hope of the Philippines along with the prayers from all the Filipinos world wide go with him.

GIVE US THIS DAY, states the poster promo of Nike Philippines, will he be granted this day? Will we be granted this day?

A couple of days ago De la Hoya said, “If you have Mexicans, I have Mexicans too..” But who cares whether he has his icon on his side or not? Whether Pacquiao has fans from Mexico? What matters that night are the skills, abilities and moves that those world class boxers will showcase towards each other. At the other hand, if Pacquiao does have Mexican Fans, are there any Filipinos who support De la Hoya? I don’t think so.

De la Hoya lost twice in his past 5 matches, whilst Pacquaio goes through with a clean sheet of 5 wins 0 losses in his recent five. Will De la Hoya extend his victorious journey to a back-to-back victory? Or will Pacquiao reach for his sixth consecutive?

From our point of view, there’s no stopping for the Pacman

If in the last battle, I came to doubt Pacquiao inside and out and was literally anticipating his downfall, I stood corrected by all means as I watched him battle David Diaz at his best, with no excuses. If he keeps that mood up for the sixth of December, then this fight will be surely ours.

There’s still a chance for the Mexican to pursue in stopping the Filipino rampage over the Mexicans ala Pacquiao way, but that chance is very small, but still, there is a chance. A small glimpse of hope that could upset all of our.

Besides the support that we’ll be showing him on the day when the battle nears to its momentum, prayers could aid him as well, prayers for success, for good health for both sides in the upcoming Boxing Scenario.

Let’s see whether the Mexican Assassin can strike again and take another step forward in Boxing History.

Friendster Accounts being banned, save yours!

November 30, 2008

I noticed a couple of very weird facts about Friendster Users, which I have ever so hard tried to correct. But after correcting one of the many, I discovered that there are numerous people who are exercising these errors.

Using a Imaginary Email Address, specifically @YAHOO.COM

YAHOO IS NOT EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD, there are many other, better Electronic Mail Service Providers like Google Mail for example. You are not obliged to have a Yahoo! Mail to join Friendster, nevertheless a IMAGINARY email which leads to..

People blaming Friendster for their account being suspended

Do you even know what the word VERIFY means? When it says VERIFY your friendster? If you are one of those who have had one of his/her accounts banned, don’t wonder! But think things over, are you sure you did not do anything foolish? Or, are you one of the many who kept on ignoring the notice PLEASE VERIFY YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS?

Doing things the correct way.

Sign up for a real Yahoo! Mail account, use the email address that you registered with Yahoo! Mail for your friendster account, once you have done so, wait for a message in your Yahoo! Mail which you need to click to avoid being deleted on Friendster someday.

Good Morning Folks,

I’d like to announce to everyone that the Mindanao Bloggers are organizing a Christmas Party for this Holiday Season which is said to kick off on the 27th of December, at 8 in the Evening and shall last until the 28th, 2 in the morning.

There is no specific venue announced yet, but the CIty is set, and it will be Davao City, so keep track for the official venue TBA.  Just as I write this post, there have been three people who confirmed attending this event, according to the event announcement that Blogie has posted on Facebook, and I hope to see more new and old faces there.

There are still 68 more people who are on the que to respond to the announcement being made.

Suggestions that I could think of this very moment are:

  • Exchange Gifts, but we still need to raffle off whom will gonna give a gift? Anyways, people need to confirm first if they can make it.
  • Good Food – Do I need to mention this? Of course there will be Good Food at Blogger Events :p
  • That’s all, I mentioned just more than one because I said “are” above. XD

Mumbai Terrorist Attack

November 29, 2008

I am speechless this very moment I am taking down notes for this post, I can’t express my grief and burden that I feel when I browsed the net looking for more information that I can add to this article regarding the Mumbai Terrorist Attack. A lot of people have died, the dead count rose up to 160 and may have risen in the past few hours, more than 300 people were injured based on the date the news article that I’ve read was posted.

According to eye-witnesses, the attack was started by English or British Passport holders. If this news is true, then, according to Security Correspondent of BCC News, the attack might have been inspired and coordinated by the al-Qaeda, since it therefore inspires an Islamic Motive.

For those who would like to help the victims of this Terrorist Attack in Mumbai, and therefore live around the Mumbai state in India, maybe this article could help you out.

People from afar, like we, from the Philippines; can help through prayers for peace in India and in the whole world. But can we really see through this attack and may find peace someday? The Mumbai attack opens a totally new perspective towards the war in the Middle East of Asia. India, a country which is so innocent and had nothing to do with the war was hit by this massive attack, and could warn other countries, as well as the Philippines for attacks like this.

The first attack occurred about 9:30 pm at the Cafe Leopold on November 26, 2008. A man was seen firing an AK-47 in the Taj Mahal Palace hotel lobby before fleeing into the kitchen. Another series of injuries was reported when a gunman opened fire at a central train station.

On November 27, a standoff at the Oberoi Hotel continued. A group of about 100 police attempted to rescue four or five foreigners who were being held on the 19th floor. A “loud explosion” was heard and flames were seen.17 The standoff has since ended and only one building, the Taj Hotel, remains under control of the gunmen.

Moving back home?

November 27, 2008

We have recently moved to a new domain name, which was Buhay Kabataan, and ended up settling ourselves on another domain name, teenph.com. Yet just a couple of days after this “said to be” final decision, we, especially I have got something else on my mind, and that is returning to where we came from, which would be pinoyteens.net

Reasons for this idea include the following factors:

  • Loooong time of being indexed
  • Ranking VERY LOW in the search index
  • VERY LOW TRAFFIC
  • Low Comment Volume
  • PR0
  • and more factors.

Discussing: Blog Design

November 27, 2008

I’m a newbie when it comes to Blog Designs, or should I say to designs in general? I can’t do anything but a bit of html on our themes and work around some WordPress codes, but who cares? My friend and I have gathered here at my house to discuss a few points about Blog Designs in general.

The first thing that came to my mind was questioning him, what he would prefer, paid, sponsored or freeGPL themes? And he answered straight back that he is in favor of Free Themes.

In WordPress Designs, or Blog Designs, rather; it doesn’t really matter what you offer your readers in terms of blog design, it’s still the content that counts, but having a blog design that suits the eyes of your readers and the niche of your blog is a great bonus, including strategic placement for advertisement. But who cares?

I have been left unsatisfactory a couple of times, the Revolution Theme and Revolution Two Series which gave me an headache in terms of getting the theme edited and the RevolutionPRO Media specifically in terms of server load caused because of all the customization that I applied. During these times, the quality of my posts has declined, and hey, it has really affected my blogging, but who cares?

RMC hosts Traveling Science Fare

November 26, 2008

Okey okey, I don’t really know whether I should publish a post about this nonsense field trip or not, but I just have to share a couple of words of wisdom regarding the event that kept me away from the computer for the whole day until late evening. Well, no wonder that the trip was nonsense because it was managed and supervised by the Philippine Women’s College of Davao, who messed up at the very end of a decent field trip which is still not worth the money that I have spent.

The first destination was the Science Centrum, this years Science Centrum or Science Fare, was kindly hosted by the RMC Davao Gymnasium, or the Rizal Memorial College of Davao Gymnasium. The fare was located at the heart of their basketball gym. We arrived there just a couple of minutes later than the students of EMAR, which rendered us useless against the first come first serve policy that was implemented. The other school was able to take full advantage of what was offered by the Traveling Science Centrum. While we at the other hand had to share our time with them after they took full advantage of the opportunity given. After all, I was still able to take a couple of pictures from the fare and it was still quite fun. Yet I really have expected a much more representable and entertaining output. The whole science fare looked much more attractive on television, especially the objects that you could touch and play around with.

PWC Event: Worst School Fieldtrip ever!

November 26, 2008

The Philippine Women’s College of Davao Administration and Faculty can’t simply get rid of their perfection in being imperfection. Our Monthly examination (considered as Chapter Test in other schools, like Ateneo) is just a week ahead of us, scheduled on the second and third of December, yet the Administration decided to host a fieldtrip for the High School Students especially the Seniors, squeezing it inside the jam-packed schedule of ours.
