October 17, 36 hours sun light?

A rumor is spreading that on the 17th of October, we will witness a rare phenomenon which is said to be occurring every 2,400 years on our planet earth. That in East the it'll be 36 hours day in US 36 hours night.

    I still think that its still a big hoax. Anyway, October 17 is near. It wouldn’t be a burden to just wait for it if it happens or not. :3

    Ok, Now I am well past the age of believing in such phenomenon. Every 10 years or so, a rumor spreads throughout the world that the end of the world is coming. Unless someone drops a bomb, and god bless us all if this happens because there will be nothing left to blog about, there is nothing coming except dawn on October 17th.

    I can't believe this story was featured in today's paper! It's 2010 and no such event has happened yet; at least in my lifetime.

    This obviously must be some hoax that didn't do so well a couple years back that their trying to revive it. Either that or the nutball was mistaken in stating that this so-called "phenomena" happens every 2 and a half millennia for just two years. HIGHLY unlikely.

    I think that as per the surveys the scientists have said that 65% of the magnet from earth have been deplenished so the earth's crust somewhat have become lose.So when the earth will rotate than due to inertia of motion (nweton's first law) the crust will take sometime to rotate with the earth or to come along with the direction in which the earth is rotating,that's why this statemant can be true that"17 oct. will have 36 hours of day".this slow seed of rotating will allow us to see 36 hours of day.but I think that the earth will resore the finished magnet little bit in 36 hours and the naxt day the nature will ragain it's form.
