Goddies for Commentors
May 28, 2008 · Don't forget to leave a comment
Meanwhile I am preparing myself to get ready for school, I’m getting my blog ready for your comments. I’ve made Pinoy Teens Online more user friendly and very comment inviting, as now, people are very much encouraged to leave comments, as they will get their link to their latest post on their website just beside/below the comment that they have written, thus only if the respective commentor has left a valid URL which supports feeds.
Like a Multiply Account or WordPress blog for example. Also, you may have come to notice already that for some time, we have enabled the Identicons (those tiny little cutie icons beside commentors names). Those are the actual replacement of the former default gravatar logo, just to wrap up the monotony that we had here seeing that boring G. At least now, we see something different every time someone new comments on the blog, sometimes a identicon even better looking than a personalized gravatar.
For all those who are curious what a gravatar is, it stands for Globally Recognized Avatars. As you register on their website, you will be given the option to upload images from your local machine or images on the net, next you can crop them as you desire and of course, save your changes and assign a gravatar to your email address. You can even add up more than 1 email address in one account, so that you can create gravatars for every single email that you are using. Once you’ve created a gravatar, you’ll then be able to see that gravatar here, instead of the identicon.
A couple of people have been asking me where that specific feature was gone; I removed it because that particular plugin is subject for server overload at my old web host, but I don’t really know. Maybe that old host of mine does just simply, really s*cks. Let’s see how things are going with this plugin here on Pinoy Teens again!
