Wow, at nakapaglabas na rin ng mahabang post, nice post again kevin, but where are the people who comment here frequently? :p

i have to two more: don’t make changing domain every week a hobby and, never group message your post through ym every hours. its annoying.

Kevin, you should be following your tip number 9. Blogging more than sleeping. The title says “13 Blogging Mistakes” and yet you keep on repeating there are “10 random things that bloggers should not do.”

So I am adding the 14th pointer, review and edit your post before you publish it. Publishing it without the additional editing may mean you don’t think much of your readers.

I would also like to add a note on number 1 and number 3. It is OK to blog for money. I am blogging for money. But I know in order for my blog to earn money, I have to give something to my readers. I also disagree with your point number 3. I think bloggers should spread the word for every post they make, because that is why you are blogging – to let the world know about your ideas. A more relevant suggestion would be Never to Blog about things you think others would not be interested in.

These are good tips,, but I do not agree that each of them are a NOT to DO by bloggers.. I wanted to expand more, but I just feel lazy typing,, hehe

byt the way,, you have so many scripts,, try to simplify them, cause it slows your site loading,,

Well said. On my part, I’ve already made a booboo by choosing Blogger. Oh well. What hosting would you recommend?

  • http://www.kevinpaquet.com Kevin Paquet

@Richie – Ops, I added 3 more rules than I had in mind before I wrote the actual content of the blog XD People can make mistakes, ayt?

Note about #1, since you are trying to give something interesting to your readers, you are not blogging for money ONLY, what I’m referring to are specially those MFA blogs.

Note about #3, since it’s your blog, you decide what to post, interesting or not, a blog is there to let out what you want to share, and often tend to represent what you feel, so if you have got a personal post, for example out on your blog, it doesn’t really needs that much attention than other posts, does it?

Sadly, I’ve done many of those, especially the domain changing every week one. I was never successful.

    Thanks for the tips.

Cool ano, ako ‘yung nasa #4. I’m doing it for fun, nainggit lang siguro kayo kasi ginaganun ko subscriber count ko. Laging tandaan na nilagay ko ang salitang “siguro” so it’s only an assumption.

Go, awayin niyo pa ako. Just keep me informed kada inaaway niyo ako thru my blog kung sakali para masaya buhay ko. =D

    • http://www.kevinpaquet.com Kevin Paquet

@Mikko Paano kami maiinggit eh, 800+ real subscribers naman ang amin? 0.0 konting HTML editing lang kelang para idadag ang text “thousand other subscribers” noh? haha..

  • http://conradmiguel.com/ Mikko

    I love this.

Go, awayin niyo pa ako — makakatulong rin ‘yun sa pagrami ng visitors at real subscriber count ko.

    :D Have fun.

[pinanganak lang siguro talaga ako na mahilig mang-asar] nyok!

I am using blogger platform because I am more familiar with it. I guess blogging is not about the platform. It is the content that really matters.

If in case you are curious on how to get that content to a larger audience, then the platform really matters.

Domain Changing every week IS REALLY VERY BAD. If changing a design weekly is totally not recommended, then how much more changing your online trademark? (name)

I would recommend Blue Host, because that is what my friends are recommending, I can't recomend the host I'm using because our servers are full haha LOL

I cannot leave a comment on the Link Love page, so I decided to leave it here.

Thanks for the invite, Kevin. I can see that you have an interesting site. However, I just want to say something about establishing link exchange or blogroll.

It only works better if both have a common niche. One may remove you link on their blogs, and it is hard to monitor them. One way link (link bait) is better, as it can really attract more traffic.

If you will check my sidebar, all the links there are related to my topics – family and blogging.

But here’s the kicker, I am collecting a lot of Pinoy blogs that I think are interesting and can be proud of. With this, I decided to include your blog on my post about it – Thanks for the invite, Kevin. I can see that you have an interesting site. It’s me again, and I am sorry for my confusing comment above. Anyway, here’s my comment about your interesting post.

Now, here are my suggestions on what bloggers should avoid doing.

1.0 Having useless widgets on your sidebar. Make it neat, and good looking.

2.0 Add huge photos that can make your blog slower to open. The first 7 sec. is very important.

3.0 Require commentators to compute math problems, or CAPCHA. You can moderate your comments, anyway.

4.0 Blog about your complains about life. Instead, inspire your readers and help them unselfishly.

5.0 Avoid using long URL. The shorter, the better.

6.0 Engage in word war with your commentators. If you don’t like his comment, don’t approve it.

    Hope that helps.
